A few years ago as we worked on renewing our agreements with Maryland DNR, it was brought up that we needed to have chainsaw operators that would be cutting on State owned land. We worked with the local Forest Service manager to get three of our members certified back in 2023. We now have another course that is on the calendar for Saturday April 18th. This training will take place on the Walton section of the Salem State Forest on route 5.
All participants will need to bring: chainsaw(gas or electric is fine), helmet, hearing protection, safety glasses, chainsaw chaps, and gloves. Long pants/sleeves and leather boots are highly encouraged.
We have been asked to keep it to a maximum of 12 people for the training. If we have more than 12 people that are planning to attend then active club members will be prioritized for participation.
