SMMB is run by members and volunteers. With more members and volunteers, the greater the influence we have with land managers and open space policy makers in the Southern Maryland are. Your membership will help us advocate for more trails in the area for you to enjoy.
- We organize and participate in trail maintenance days.
- We help maintain the current trail system in Southern Maryland.
- We advocate for new trails.
- We work with the Maryland DNR to help maintain the character of the trails that are scheduled to be re-routed, while increasing their sustainability.
- We work with local businesses to promote mountain biking in the area.
- We hold “Skills Clinics” for riders that want to practice and hone their skills.
- We are a community based organization and do our part to make St. Mary’s County a bike friendly community.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide an opportunity for mountain bikers and outdoor enthusiasts of all skill levels to not only learn the joy of mountain biking, but to continue to grow the love for the sport. As a growing community of riders, we offer destination rides, encouragement, fun, local rides, skill development, socializing, and the opportunity to experience racing as a team.
